The Construction of Flux - Limiting AdvectionAlgorithms through Program

The Ctadel code generator is a tool for the automatic generation of PDE based scientiic models and generates eecient code for various computational platforms from an independent high level language description. It was applied for the generation of code to compute the dynamical tendencies within the Hirlam weather forecast model. In this paper we will use Ctadel for the implementation of numerical advection schemes for the Delwaq water quality model. This model is based on the nite volume discretization method. In this report we consider the generation of ux-limiter upwind schemes. These schemes show less numerical diiusion, but are still monotone, which are important properties for the modeling of advection within water quality models. We discuss the generation of these methods and the optimization of the resulting conditional loop nests within Ctadel.
